Zbaltazar is one of the Companions that the cat can find and interact with. An old friend of Momo's, he also once wished to go and see The Outside, but has now found other ways to let his mind roam free.
Zbaltazar can be found meditating at the top of Antvillage. He uses the screens behind him to communicate with others. He can be nuzzled.
Originally living in the Slums, he left them with Clementine and went through the Sewers to the upper level. He stayed to meditate in the Antvillage, while Clementine went higher, to the Midtown. When he meets the cat, he only gives him instructions on how to find Clementine, and gives him their joint photo. He had previously communicated with Momo using a Transceiver.
Momo said of him, "I never quite understood what he was talking about most of the time, but he was very wise."
Trivia
- In the game's string table, Zbaltazar's speech has keys using the name GERARD (mouseover the "🛈" icons in the Dialog table below), which was likely an earlier name that was changed in the course of development. This does not seem to be a name from the Credits. Other characters that seem to have been renamed are Seamus (Roberto Jr), Doc (Roberto), Kosma (Koba), Riko (Freddy) and Bilite (Billie).
- In his Companion form he is incredibly small and slight.
