The Slums, referred to by its Companion residents as the SafeZone, is a location in Stray that is reached in Chapter 4: The Slums, and revisited in Chapter 6: The Slums - Part 2 and once again at the end of Chapter 7: Dead End.
The Slums is the last place on the Lower Level where Companions can safely live. It consists of a broken elevator that once led to the Upper Level and about a dozen large buildings in which their apartments are located. The Slums are fenced off from the Dead City from all sides; as a result, with the elevator no longer functioning, one can only get in and out of the Slums through the three Entrances, which are dangerous due to the presence of Zurks. The Slums are guarded by Companions who can turn on the alarm if they find a Zurk within the Slums. The Slum's main guard is Guardian.
Slums have been a poor area since the time of the existence of Humans, and have remained such a place until now. Most Slum dwellers do not have access to good clothes, new body parts, entertainment and good food. For trade, residents use barter for Syuba Oil and Energy Drinks.
