Doc is a Companion who lives in The Slums, and is member of the Outsiders. In his Secret Laboratory, he was trying to create a weapon (the Defluxor) to use against the Zurks. One day he left to go to Dead End, in order to have a “real-life test” of the weapon, and never came back. He could not return because of a blown Fuse in the Generator powering the Defluxor. It started up loudly, attracting Zurks to it, so Doc couldn't replace it himself, and is left stuck in Dead End for many years. After the Cat helps him, Doc installs a small Defluxor on B-12 and returns to with the cat to The Slums.
Doc is missed by his son, Seamus, who has spiralled into a lonesome period of grief. The game doesn't say if Doc is a single father or if he has a partner. Seamus has spent many years waiting for news of his father, and he helps track him down with his Tracker.
Momo says of Doc, "He was really a huge nerd for electronics and stuff. He was always on the verge of a great discovery!"
He had his own notebook, as do the rest of The Outsiders.
Trivia
- Both Doc and Seamus are based (visually and behaviorally) on Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly from the Back to the Future movie series.
- The code to Doc’s lab is hidden in a time-related puzzle.
- Doc's incorrect spelling of "gigaWatt" is likely a reference to the mockery the original movie received due to incorrectly pronouncing the word as "JiggaWatts" with a soft G. Surprisingly, the movie got the amount right, though: a lightning bolt can easily provide 1.21 GW, or even about a thousand times that (~10 TW).
- In the game's source code, Doc is often referred to as ROBERTO: DROID_DE_MeetRoberto_StandToGiveBattery_DROID.uasset, DROID_DE_MeetRoberto_WakeUp_Afraid_CHAIR.uasset, etc. It was likely an earlier name that was changed in the course of development. This does not seem to be a name from the Credits. Another characters that seems to have been renamed are Zbaltazar (Gerard), Seamus (Roberto Jr), Kosma (Koba), Riko (Freddy) and Bilite (Billie).
- He has 5 tattoos/stickers on his body: " 7G' ", a beaker, an atom, red and yellow stickers with unknown symbols.
