The Defluxor is an item found in Stray. It is a weapon invented by Doc for use against the Zurks. It was developed by him back in the Slums, and its first test ended in an explosion, after which Doc decided to test it in real conditions, went to a Dead City and did not return.

Originally, the Defluxor was powered by a generator requiring 1.21 Gigawatts of power. After meeting Doc, the Defluxor gets installed into B-12, making the little drone its portable source of power. This way it becomes available to the player in Chapters 7 and 8, and then breaks down.

-Concept: Light based handgun
-Low priority: visual appearance / size / decibel emitted
-High priority: test in real condition
-Objective: 20 Zurk destroyed per second

Usage

Defluxor usage

It harms and quickly kills all Zurks within its purple light beam, though must only be fired in short bursts, with time to cool down in between. When used for too long (approx. 4-6sec), it gets overheated and requires additional time to cool down.

The Overheat level is indicated by a bar displayed next to B-12. When overheated, B-12 throws sparks and smoke behind him. Once the bar is empty, the sparks and smoke disappear and the Defluxor is ready to be used again.

Trivia

• In keeping with the Back To The Future theme of the Doc and Seamus storyline, the Defluxor's name is a combination of "Delorean" and "Flux Capacitor", two significant items in that series. Another "flux" references are in the names of some Brands seen in game: FLUXONIC, 100% Flux oil, etc. Also, both the Defluxor and Delorean require 1.21 gigawatts of power.
